Thank you to everyone who joined our recent webinar! We walked through a major set of improvements coming to IdS ServiceManager, centered on giving organizations far more flexibility in how they manage user identities.
Highlights we covered:
- Users without an Identity Provider (IdP): IdS ServiceManager now fully supports users that don’t rely on an IdP at all — ideal for local-user scenarios.
- Seamless management across multiple Identity Providers: Identities from different identity providers have always been able to coexist in the same tenant. We have now enabled seamless creation and management of users from various identity providers — administrators configure employment types with an IdP and a list of allowed system connections, so enable/disable, joiner/mover, and personalia updates all respect each user’s own IdP.
- Smarter access scoping: Allowed system connections can be defined per employment type and per user, automatically constraining the services and access levels offered in the joiner/mover wizards.
- More power for managers: Managers can create new employees with any IdP, choose their allowed system connections, and manage external guests directly.
- Tighter, per-user security: Authorization checks are now performed per target user, with dedicated role lists for JML, support, and system-access changes.
- Exchange & login improvements: Better Exchange Online mailbox handling and more reliable login-name generation across Entra ID and Active Directory.
These changes make IdS ServiceManager adaptable to a much wider range of organizational setups. Stay tuned for the release!
